On Friday I attended a meeting with the Senior Management of St George's Healthcare NHS Trust. The main items I raised were to do with the Trust's Performance on a variety of issues, an update on the Bolingbroke Consultation, Nursing Agency spend, MRSA, the Trust's Finances, the Maternity Units and the A and E Department. I am very impressed with the progress made at St Georges over the last period, both in terms of its management of finances and the clinical improvements that are having a direct improvement on local constituents. In fact I recently referred to this during a debate on the NHS in the House of Commons. You can see my intervention by clicking HERE.

I also attended a meeting at Gatton Primary School to approve the Budget for the year ahead.

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of going to Wembley to see the first ever International to be played at the new Wembley. The stadium is amazing. The game between Englands Under 21's and Italy's Under 21's lived up to the billing and ended 3-3.

On Sunday, I joined Martin Linton MP for Battersea to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade. Over 30 people gathered outside 111 Broomwood Road, which bears a plaque marking the site of Wilberforce’s home, and heard brief tributes from Battersea MP Martin Linton and Vicar of St Luke’s John Shepherd.
