Sadiq has pledged his support to ‘Generation Inspired’; a consultation launched by the charity Whizz-Kidz, asking young disabled people about their hopes for the legacy of the Paralympic Games. This is with the view to create a manifesto to ensure that people charged with delivering the Paralympic legacy are fully informed about what young disabled people want.
At the recent party conference in Manchester, Sadiq met 22 year old wheel-chair user and Whizz-Kids Ambassador, Chris Tickle. Chris said “Attending Labour Conference was a great opportunity to discuss the legacy of the Games with lots of MPs – and it was brilliant to get their support for Generation Inspired.”
Sadiq Khan MP said:
“The London Paralympics has really changed people’s perceptions of disability in a fantastic way and it is important that this development is built upon.
“I would urge every young disabled person in our area to take part in this consultation to ensure their views and those of other young disabled people are at the heart of plans for the Paralympics legacy”
