Kim Barry has worked as a pharmacy assistant on Mitcham Road for twenty years. The pharmacy, on 134-136 Mitcham Road, opened thirty years ago and has been under the present owners for the last eleven years. The pharmacy provides a wide range of fantastic services to the community.
Pearl Chemist offers NHS flu vaccinations on a walk-in basis for eligible patients, it runs NHS health checks and also runs a stop smoking service. The chemist has strong community ties, working with the council to provide NHS equipment, such as disability aids, making this service is more accessible.
Sadiq Khan MP and Cllr Billi Randall visited the pharmacy on 1st November to congratulate Kim on this fantastic achievement.
Sadiq Khan MP said:
“It is great to see someone from Tooting winning such a prestigious award. Kim has given twenty years service to our community and she fully deserves this honour.
“It is so important that we recognise the achievements of local people. It was a real pleasure to congratulate Kim on her achievement.
“Pearl Chemist is working hard in Tooting to provide some vital services. Brothers Mike and Vijay have worked hard to build up four fantastic pharmacies in Tooting”.
Mike Patel, owner of the Pearl Chemist Group said:
“Kim is the type of person who just works hard and gets on with job. She is extremely modest, but I am really pleased that she is getting the recognition that her hard work deserves.
